Mobile applications and digital communications are continuing to become a larger part of how small businesses operate. Microsoft Corporation reports that small businesses are expected to use more than 60 percent more business apps by 2014, according to its recent SMB Cloud Adoption Study.

Small businesses have turned to Constant Contact's Marketplace for their wide selection of apps, integrations and marketing experts. More than 10,000 small businesses have discovered mobile apps through the Marketplace.

"We saw a 125 percent increase in third part app usage in the first half of 2011," said Rick Jensen, chief sales and marketing officer for Constant Contact. "The top apps small businesses turn to are those that help them get more from their Facebook page, iPhone, and Wordpress blog, as well as apps related to syncing with their CRM system.

Another company producing apps for small businesses is Bizness Apps, a leader in custom high-end application publishing for mobile platforms. Bizness Apps recently announced the publishing of 1,000 apps in nine months.

Users can create, edit, and manage mobile apps without having any prior programming knowledge. Bizness Apps application functions include in-app messaging, check-in coupon, branded home screens and more.
