Party Invitations
It’s a party! You’ve moved into a new house, and you want to share your new space with good friends and family. How fun, how great it will be to have delicious food and drink, marvelous music, and happy times with special people.
How do you best let them all know about your party? You could pick up the phone and call but, if you’re going to invite more than just a few, that could become cumbersome and doesn’t allow you any way to verify whether or not they have agreed to attend. They say “yes” or “no,” and you wait to see if they follow through.
Why not send out a party invitation with a RSVP? You can do this simply—by going out to the store and purchasing pre-made invitations in bulk. They’re usually small, often one-sided card stock, and say something like, “House Warming,” then giving the “Who,” “Where,” “Date,” “Time,” and “RSVP by.” There may be a small space to add a personal message.
Then there are party invitations you can buy from a printer. You visit the printer, or find one online, and pick and choose from the options they have available. There are usually a good variety of designs, fonts, and other choices from which you can select.
You also have the option of going to a printer, again either in person or online, and designing your own party invitation. This is a very creative effort, and allows you to add your own photo (maybe a picture of the outside of your new home?), or pick from the designs offered you, but change colors and print styles. You usually give your own text, place your text where you want it on the card, and make sure every aspect of the party invitation fits your personal specifications. If you have enough time before your party, this can be fun and enjoyable, and give you that added satisfaction of knowing the entire experience will be one only you can put together. Very unique, and all, including the party invitations, just you.
Who are you going to invite? This is often the lead-in question and one of the most important when planning your party invitations. If it’s going to be intimate, only closest friends and family, then your invitations can show off something quirky, or exhibit a fun part of your personality that only those closest to you will know. On the other hand, if you’re planning a big splash—maybe your new home is spectacular, large, and set on a cliff above the beach—you will likely want your party invitations to showcase the grandeur of the setting, and the event itself to mirror your new home’s glamour.
Maybe you’re having a themed party. You will certainly want your party invitations to carry that theme. It’s Friday night in your cliffside home set above the beach . . . and your drink of choice for this evening will be margaritas. Margarita madness will overtake your party – and logically, your party invitations! Have them designed with a bubbly, colorful margarita glass, and possibly an evening beach scene.
Above all, have fun with your party invitations and allow them to be a reflection of you, the reason for your party, and all the best things for getting good friends and family together. Enjoy!
