A new study from Business to Business found 66 percent of marketers are launching new ad campaigns in 2012 to gain customers and raise brand awareness. The top goals of marketers for 2012 are new customer acquisition, building brand awareness and customer retention.
To achieve these goals, 74 percent of marketers plan to increase their online budgets, 41 percent plan to host more live events, 36 percent plan to implement more direct mail campaigns and 40 percent will increase total marketing budgets.
These companies, however, will have to battle a down economy that has decreased consumer confidence and lowered sales. To combat the tough economic climate, marketers should integrate cost-effective digital campaigns with traditional marketing efforts. For example, marketers can create online ads on Google or other search engines that grab consumers' attention and direct them to a company website for information or to make a purchase, Business 2 Community reported.
