Design Custom T-Shirts Online

What one spot is wildly popular to use to share a message? A place we have with us wherever we go? Our bodies can be walking billboards. When we wear custom t-shirts, we have personal message-carriers. No matter what we have to say, what cause is important or what joke we want to share . . . a custom t-shirt does the job.

By putting a message or artwork on clothing, you announce that you want others to look. You should be careful as to what you express. People have been thrown out of public places because of their custom t-shirt, while others are immediately embraced and brought into the fold. If it can be lived, dreamed, said, or thought, it can be worn on a custom t-shirt.

Think of when you’ve been in a mall and seen t-shirts around you. If voices accompanied each one, you couldn’t hear above the roar. Maybe you wore a custom t-shirt. Did you do so to share a thought, or because it was the first thing you pulled from the closet? If you wear a custom t-shirt, wear one which has meaning to you. Someone may ask why you’re wearing that particular t-shirt. If you’re a big burly guy you probably won’t don a light pink t-shirt which says, “I feel pretty, oh so pretty,” unless you’re a funny, funny man. Or if your wife has a custom t-shirt which says, “I’m with Stupid,” and yours responds, “I’m Stupid,” understand why everyone wonders about you. If that’s what you want, by all means wear that custom t-shirt with pride—and grins and giggles.

When did wearing t-shirts become popular in the US?

T-shirts came into vogue in WWI. American troops saw European soldiers in lightweight cotton shirts which looked comfortable and cool in the hot, humid summers, especially compared to American wool uniforms. U.S. troops adapted and wore them whenever possible and the custom t-shirt was born. The first message custom t-shirt came about in the next world war. The phrase, “Dew-IT with Dewey” referred to New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey’s 1948 presidential campaign and it was emblazoned across the first custom t-shirt with something to say. This one now resides in the Smithsonian Institute.

One of the original custom t-shirt promotions was in the 1960s when Budweiser printed a picture of their beer can logo on a white t-shirt. This was an advertising phenomenon, showing how a human billboard was a great sales tool. Business custom t-shirts have been popular ever since. How many company t-shirts do you own?

Politicians use custom t-shirts. A candidate isn’t worth her vote if she has no custom t-shirts with her name, face, and slogan. They make a statement, automatically showing on which side of the ideological fence someone stands. If you wear a politically-motivated custom t-shirt, ensure you agree with the candidate’s platform.

Are you promoting an important social cause? Are you an independent musician with a new CD? Have custom t-shirts printed. You and everyone you know can wear them to get the word out. Also, give them away. Promotional items are good hand-outs.

No matter the message—political or social, entertainment or favorite one-liner—custom t-shirts are fashionably made in many fabrics, including cotton and knits and synthetics. Most manufacturers ensure their t-shirts are comfortable, attractive, and wear well. While suits and formal clothes won’t go out of style, we’re becoming a casual world. Custom t-shirts show in places we’d have never before thought acceptable—boardrooms, churches, golf courses, even weddings. As the marketing of custom t-shirts becomes sophisticated and more creative, the list of suitable venues will expand. They’re worn for every reason—dressed up with nice pants or skirts, or dressed down with jeans or shorts.

You can make your own custom t-shirts as easily as you can go to the store and buy what you wear to go with them. Find an online print shop to help you with the designs, colors, styles, and any other particulars to make them the t-shirts of your dreams.

Don’t miss one of the best opportunities for promotion since the highway billboard. If you have anything you need to tell a large group, have fun while doing it. Enjoy the process—from development to the wearing of your creation. As long as you have a body, become your own promotional tool. If nothing else, it’ll make people wonder why they never noticed you before.

Create custom t-shirts that let you get off your chest whatever is on your mind.
