Super Sweet Speakeasy

A younger couple was about to open a really cool bar in Downtown Austin. They built it in the back of an old candy shop. It was going to feature all different types of candy-inspired beverages like gummy bear martinis, pop rock shooters, and spiked milkshakes.

To advertise for the grand opening they felt it’d be fun to treat it like an old-fashioned game of telephone, no big-time digital campaigns, just the basics – some flyers and door hangers around the city – let their customers spread the word.

They went to 123Print and designed some colorful layouts that showcased products from their store. They also included a password (sweet tooth) that patrons would need to give before they entered. When the time came for opening night the line ran down the block – everyone was carrying an advertisement and waiting eagerly to whisper the catch phrase. The secret was surely out.
