Can I Add Foil Personalization to my Card?
Yes—on select Digital Press products, you can upgrade your design with foil personalization. Foil adds a metallic, reflective finish to text or artwork for a premium look.
What Is a Digital Press Product?
Digital press products are printed directly from a digital file onto flat sheets of cardstock, then cut and sometimes folded into the final product.
- Supports full personalization (text, logos, photos, and more)
- Allows full‑color and full‑bleed printing
- Offers fast turnaround times
- Special finishes like foil can be added as an upgrade on select products
How to Add Foil in the Editor
When editing a qualifying product, you will see color options that include both ink and foil choices.
- Select text or artwork in the editor
- Click the color icon
- Choose from available ink colors or foil finishes
Foil options will only appear on designs and panels that support foil.
Important Foil Guidelines
1. Foil Placement Is Limited to One Side
- Flat cards: Foil can be applied to the front or back—not both
- Folded cards:
- Foil can be applied to the front/back or
- The inside panels (left/right for vertical fold or top/bottom for horizontal fold)
2. One Foil Color per Product
- You can switch elements between ink and foil
- However, only one foil color can be used per product
- If you change the foil color, all foil elements will update to that same color
3. Foil Is an Additional Cost
Adding foil is considered a premium upgrade and will increase the price of your product. Pricing updates automatically as you make selections in the editor.

- Use foil to highlight key elements like your company name, greeting, or logo
- Preview each side of your card to confirm foil placement
- Keep designs simple for the best foil effect
